Alexey was born in 1980 in Chelyabinsk, in the former USSR. He studied Photography and Time Based Media at the State University of Culture and Arts in Saint Petersburg. In 2003 he moved to Italy and started working as a cameraman for a television company. In 2005 he joined Prospekt.
His work has taken him through Europe, and more frequently to Russia, where Alexey is currently based, and the countries of former USSR. Here covered stories in Russia, Crimea, Azerbaijan, South Ossetia, and since two years he is working on the long-term project focused on the communities living in the Eco-Villages in Russia.
His work has appeared in publications including Marie Clair, Courrier International, National Geographic, Russian Reporter, IL-Sole24Ore magazine, D Repubblica delle Donne, l’Espresso.
His work has been exhibited at OpenMind Gallery, Milan 2009; Triennale Museum, Milan 2010; and at Museo della Resistenza, Turin 2010.
