Prospekt Photographers is pleased to announce that JUSTIN MAXON has been awarded by The Magnum Foundation Emergency Fund 2012 grantees for “Murder That Goes Unsolved and Unheard”.

The fund awards the annual prize to photographers from around the world  who use their cameras to shed light on underserved issues and communities.

The EF mission is to support documentary photographers to create long-form, independent photo essays and bring visibility to underreported stories. Through in-depth reportage, we strive to cultivate awareness around critical issues.

The EF granting process is comprised of a broad international nomination committee and an autonomous editorial committee. This year the EF received 93 nominations and 76 photographers from 28 countries submitted proposals.

This years photographers will report on issues not visible on the media map.  Working in a range of narrative styles, these photographers demonstrate their commitment to producing in-depth work and disseminating it to targeted audiences across multiple media platforms.
