“Last November I spent one month in Jerusalem, facing for first time a country where contemporary history is being written. I was looking to find a personal, intimate point of view, so I decided to keep a sort of photographic diary of my life and of what was happening “outside”. I was quite surprised by the words that everybody repeated there: “nothing’s happening here”. They meant it was quite a peaceful moment, but I had to get used to their ‘peacefulness’. I finally discovered a sort of bitter sweetness in these days, divided between my calm apartment in the old city of Jerusalem and Palestinians daily life, strongly characterized by the will of gaining recognition of their denied rights”.
