We are three photojournalists from Prospekt agency in Milan, a group of independent international photographers whose goal is to tell significant stories about contemporary issues, and to curate and promote projects with a documentary and humanistic vision and approach. For years, we have borne witness to international events, believing in the power of images to raise public awareness and contribute to increasing understanding of contemporary historical events.
For two years, we have been helplessly witnessing the massacre of civilians in Gaza without being allowed to report and document it. Since the borders of the Gaza Strip were closed to the foreign press, nearly three hundred journalist colleagues have been killed by the invading forces, all with the de facto complicity of international governments and the ineffectiveness of diplomacy. Meanwhile, in the West Bank too, Palestinian homes are being destroyed and lands expropriated by settlers, with the support of the Police and the Army. The poor coverage of all this by the Italian media contributes to severely and permanently undermining the stability of the democratic system, at best diverting attention and, at worst, mystifying reality.
We feel the urgency of doing our work in the field and of helping our colleagues who, in Gaza as well as in the West Bank, are strenuously trying to document what is happening around them. With this conviction—and thanks to the support of Iperborea, NN Editore, Radio Popolare, and Zona K—we independently decided to travel to the West Bank to work in the field, with the aim of daily disseminating what is happening, as well as collecting, supporting, and spreading the work of photographers who have been committed to the entire region for years.
To take the next step, we need your help, and here we are launching a collective, free-participation fundraising campaign to realize the Prospekt Palestine project, aimed at achieving:
• a travelling photographic exhibition of the materials produced by local photographers, which will initially be hosted in Milan, at the Fabbrica del Vapore, within the Zona K Life Festival / Spring 2026
• the collection of audio and video materials for the production of a short documentary on the daily work of some local photographers (documentation of fieldwork, interviews, testimonies) October 2025 – March 2026
• the organization of public debates and conferences with the invitation of some representatives, including international photographers, journalists, and activists / Spring 2026
The recent chronicle of the world we live in has made it necessary to act, participate, engage, and speak out in the name and support of democracy.
