"A faceless figure crouching in a eerie landscape, an impromptu deposition straight out of a 16th Century painting, pink flamingos in a suburban garden, a mountain bearing the visible traces of the past. This is the visual universe of Nausicaa Giulia Bianchi. Her laser beam gaze zeroes in on the side-worlds that go unnoticed, on what is latent around us, making it visible. Strangers become immediately familiar and even intimate. Situations turn into lucid dreams. Whether she tells the stories of women priests, forgotten wars or bygone places, she is able to turn both materiality and thoughts into visual poetry, but with no concession to aestheticism. Every image is a political statement, sometimes a no-frills documentation of a situation, sometimes an objective correlative of a vision of the world. Always a photographic act, in the Ariella Azoulay sense. As a visual storyteller, an educator, and a human, Nausicaa is a volcano of energy and ideas. Nothing escapes her razor sharp eye and mind. She articulates her work through different approaches, mixing different media and image typologies, working in both still and moving image, editing her stories into different forms; never resting on an established formula, but constantly re-questioning and re-framing her own work and vision." by Laura Liverani
